AVI awards ceremony goes virtual

With the restrictions on gatherings as a result of Covid-19, virtual conferences have become an everyday reality. As was the case with AVI’s annual Field Sales Marketing Conference.

Instead of the usual 2-day conference, which includes an awards evening, this year employees were invited to a Virtual Awards Ceremony. The theme the AVI team came up with, We’ve Got Grit, acknowledged the way Field Sales Marketing team members have dealt with the added pressures of Covid-19: through hard work, non-stop grind and by refusing to give up.

Our client pulled us in on the project a week before the event. However, with the help of our trusted AV suppliers, the virtual celebration went down without a hitch.

The event, MC’d by Jason Goliath, was live-streamed from the client’s offices to over 70 delegates across the country. A virtual custom-designed set, and a green-screen set-up in the boardroom, made it look as if the team were presenting from an actual studio.

In addition, satellite rooms were set up in relevant regional offices to accommodate nominees who did not have access to computers and/or the Internet from their homes. All relevant Covid-19 safety measures were adhered to for everyone’s protection, including social distancing, face masks and sanitising procedures.
